Even without four of the top players from the 2024 state championship team, Lyon County continues to be one of the most efficient offensive basketball teams in the state. The latest KHSAA stats have the Lyons as one of two 2nd Region teams among the state’s leaders in team offense.
As of Wednesday morning, Lyon County was tied for second in the state in scoring at 78.7 points per contest, along with Knox Central. St. Xavier leads the state’s boys’ teams at 79 points per game.
The only other 2nd Region team to be ranked in the Top 50 is Hopkins County Central. The Storm are currently 13th in the state at 74.4 points per contest.
On the defensive side of the ball, only one 2nd Region team is among the state’s leaders. The Henderson County Colonels rank 16th in the state at 48.6 points allowed per game.
Foundation Christian, in Bowling Green, is at the top of the defense list, giving up just 36.1 points per game.
