
The Butler County Lady Bears picked up their first win in nearly three weeks Thursday evening. The Lady Bears got off to a very fast start and rolled to an 81-36 win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons.
The victory ended a three-game losing skid for Butler County.
Butler County’s offense was rolling coming out of the game. The Lady Bears rang up 32 points in the opening quarter on their way to a 32-7 lead.
The Lady Falcon defense was able to slow down Butler County in the second quarter but could not make any headway on the other end of the court as the Lady Bears took a 47-19 lead into the break.
The Butler County offense got back on track as the second half got started. The Lady Bears extended the lead to 71-34 after three.
With the running clock in play, the fourth quarter finished out quickly. Butler County held the Lady Falcons to just two points in the quarter as the Lady Bears closed out a 45-point win.
Ava Wilson was one of four Butler County players in double figures with 18 points. Ann Marie Skaggs ended up with 14 points. Carley Cardwell had 13 and Tinslea Belcher scored 10 for the Lady Bears.
The loss drops the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons to 3-8 on the season. The Lady Falcons will get back to action Saturday afternoon at St. Mary.
