When you are used to either playing golf or practicing golf almost every day what do you do when you suddenly are not playing?

For 30-year-old Emma Talley that was a dilemma after she retired after seven years on the LPGA Tour.

“I am just filling my time in various ways. Right now I have been cleaning the attic. I have never done that before,” said Talley. “Our house has always been a dumping zone for travel. There are projects my husband and I want to do in our house (In Nashville).

“I am getting ready for a new chapter in my life. I do not know what job I will eventually have but I hope to figure that out sooner or later. Right now I am not missing practice when it is 30 degrees or colder outside.

“I have also just been enjoying home and home-cooked meals. To me an apple and a sandwich for lunch is a luxury. I never got to do that. My mom says enjoy being bored because I won’t be in six  months (when she becomes a mother).”

Talley was always engaging with media members during her high school, college and professional careers. That’s why it was no surprise she was so successful last year when she dabbled in some media work for ESPN and the LPGA Tour.

‘I kind of shocked myself how much I loved it,” Talley said. “I really, really enjoyed it. It helps when girls on tour are your friends and that makes the job easier. I hope I can help out and do more of that this year.

“I am still hoping to do something this year and I am in conversations with a lot of people. I would love to stay involved in the golf industry. My problem, though, now is that I love too many things.”
