
Christian County improved to 3-0 in 8th-District play with a 57-37 victory over visiting Hopkinsville on Friday. The Lady Colonels won their fourth in a row to improve to 13-8 ahead of a trip to Fort Campbell on Monday.
Neither team could find the range in a low-scoring first quarter before the Lady Colonels opened up a 26-12 advantage in the second behind a trio of three-pointers from Anaysia Bagwell.
Christian County’s defense continued to do the job after the break, holding Hopkinsville to only seven third-quarter points. D’Ebony Anderson scored seven in the third to help the Lady Colonels to a 42-19 advantage with a quarter to play.
Lashanti Wilson scored 10 of her team-high 12 in the fourth for the Lady Tigers to make the final margin more respectable.
Bagwell finished with a game-high 17, including five three-pointers, and Lazarie Daniel added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Hopkinsville slipped to 6-8 with a visit from Henderson County coming up on Monday. The Lady Tigers have lost the last five in the series with the Lady Colonels.
