
The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team put a three-game losing streak in the rearview mirror on Friday with a 64-33 victory over hosts Russellville.
The Lady Rebels picked up their first district win to improve to 10-8 ahead of a trip to Muhlenberg County on Saturday.
Alexis Taylor and Daymea Garrett combined for 11 points to lead Todd Central to a first-quarter lead, and the Lady Rebels held Russellville to only 16 points in the first half to build a 17-point halftime advantage.
Defense continued to be the story in the second half for Todd Central. Taylor scored nine points in the third to finish with a game-high 21, and Ja’Mya Kay added five to push the score to 53-22.
Kay joined Taylor in double figures with 13 for the Lady Rebels, and Jordyn Shemwell finished with 11.
DeMyiah Allen scored 14 as the Lady Panthers lost their tenth straight to slip to 1-16.
