How healthy will Kentucky be Saturday afternoon when it plays at Vanderbilt?
Okay, we know guard Kerr Kriisa will not be back from a broken foot suffered in early December.
What no one knows definitely is how Lamont Butler’s shoulder — and other bruised body parts — or Andrew Carr’s back will be. Both have been limited recently but have not missed games.
Kentucky has not played since last Saturday’s loss to Alabama and hopefully the time off has helped both heal some.
Coach Mark Pope has not said a lot about it but sophomore center Brandon Garrison has also had some minor injuries he has dealt with this season.
Pope provided a brief health update Thursday but did not say Butler and Carr definitely would be ready to go against Vanderbilt, which upset Tennessee last week but then lost 103-87 at Alabama Tuesday. The Commodores are 15-4 overall/
“It’s better than it was a few days ago, that’s for sure,” Pope said Thursday about his team’s health. “Everybody in the league is going to deal with the same thing and certainly we are too.
“You’re just scraping away at every single second where you can to try and be as healthy as you can. But everybody is gonna play hurt and play with injured guys.
“We’re doing better. Really grateful for this week because it at least helps us make some progress.”
