The Todd County Central boys’ basketball team slipped to 0-2 in 13th-District play and hosts Russellville snapped a six-game skid on Friday with an 80-62 victory.

Todd Central’s Devin Schutt knocked down six three-pointers on the way to a team-high 20 points but it wasn’t enough to help the Rebels avoid a thirteenth-straight defeat to slip to 1-19 and 0-2 in district play.

Schutt drilled a pair of threes in the opening quarter but Octavious McKeage and Jamarion Gardner combined for 14 points to give Russellville an early seven-point edge.

LaBryan Nourse scored seven and McKeage added six points in the second frame to help the Panthers to a 39-24 halftime advantage.

Conner Holder knocked down three three-pointers to post 11 points in the third and Schutt added two from beyond the arc, but the Rebels couldn’t cut into the Panthers’ lead.  Both offenses got going in the fourth, including nine points for Gardner, and Russellville cruised to a double-digit win.

Gardner finished with 22 to lead all scorers, followed by McKeage with 20 for the Panthers, Jerius Coleman with 15, and Nourse with 11.

Holder joined Schutt in double figures with 11 for the Rebels and Tay Shemwell also finished with 11.

Todd Central has a week off before traveling to Franklin-Simpson next week.  The Rebels dropped both meetings with the Wildcats last season.
