
The Caldwell County Lady Tiger wrestling team continued what has been a strong season on the mat by finishing second out of 26 teams Saturday in the Anna-Jonesboro Girls Tournament in Anna, Illinois.
Seven Lady Tigers claimed medals as Caldwell totaled 119 team points.
Edwardsville, Illinois, ran away with the team championship with 206 points. Thornton (Illinois) finished third with 92 points.
The Lady Tigers had two individual runners-up.
Sophie Parrish pinned her first three opponents at 100 pounds before being pinned in the championship match.
Kamyra Dickey went 2-1 while claiming second at 105.
Caldwell had two third-place finishers.
Lexie Gobin was 4-1 on the day while taking third at 135.
Virginia Stewart was 3-1 while placing third at 235.
Three Lady Tigers recorded fourth-place finishes — Aniyaree Wilson at 115, Keirli Herran at 140 and Payten Simmons at 190.
The regional wrestling tournament for Caldwell’s girls is coming up Saturday, Feb. 15, at Central Hardin.
