
The Fort Campbell girls’ swim team captured a second-place finish at Saturday’s Region One Championship at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center in Hopkinsville.
The Lady Falcons had two swimmers qualify for the state first round in a pair of events.
Caylee Ford won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.78 and the 100-yard fly in 1:04.63.
Leanne Archbell won the 200-yard IM in 2:36.27. She also qualified for the state first round with a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.64.
The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state first round on Feb. 8 at Bowling Green High School. The next ten times in the event from Regions 1-3 will also qualify
Ava Roberts was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:17.96.
Julieann Johnson was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:19.20 and was 12th in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.03 seconds.
Lyla Szody was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.93 seconds and eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:33.50.

Elle Eslinger was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:33.01.
Lydia Weisbrich was eighth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.69.
Molly Sharp was eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:24.25 and was 14th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:15.81.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Leanne Archbell, Caylee Ford, Lyla Szody, and Ava Roberts finished in third place in 2:10.69. The same group was fourth in the 400-yard free relay.
The 200-yard free relay team of Lydia Weisbrich, Molly Sharp, Elle Eslinger, and Julieann Johnson came in fourth place in 2:12.33.
Murray repeated as region champions with 422 points followed by Fort Campbell (261), Henderson County (235), and Madisonville (228).
