Trigg County used a 17-4 second half run to defeat Hickman County 47-30 at the Chappel Allen Memorial Shootout on Saturday at Wildcat Gym.
The Lady Wildcats held a 28-24 lead and closed the third quarter with a 6-2 run. Trigg then scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to break the contest open. The 17-point final margin was the largest of the game for the Lady Wildcats.
Reese Bush hit four 3-pointers and finished with 19 points. Veyda Grinols joined Bush in double figures with 10 points and seven rebounds, and Alivia Norwood added seven points and six boards.
Hickman County trailed 28-17 at halftime but got as close as four points in the third quarter before Trigg scored 13 of the game’s final 15 points.
Brooklyn Naranjo had eight points and nine rebounds for the Lady Falcons.
Trigg County improved to 5-1 all-time against Hickman County. The Lady Falcons’ lone win in the series came in 2014.
