Wildcats Hold Off Hickman County For 8th Win

Trigg County scored the final eight points of its game on Friday as they beat Livingston Central. On Saturday, they nearly lost a seven-point fourth quarter lead but held on to tip Hickman County 60-57 at the Chapel Allen Memorial Shootout at Wildcat Gym.

Trigg County led 54-47 with 3:25 left, but four turnovers in the fourth quarter led to six Hickman points, bringing them to within 58-57 with 41 seconds left.

Landon Swann hit a pair of free throws with eight seconds left and a last-second 3-point attempt by Hickman County missed.

Trigg County shot 46% from the field, but Hickman County made 18 more shots, thanks to 15 Trigg turnovers, which led to 17 Falcon points.

Trigg did own the glass 39-29 and they had 15 second chance points.

Trigg County got a pair of 20-point double-doubles in the win. Swann had 22 points and 13 rebounds and Devaree Gude added 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Caleb Fogle chipped in with seven points as the Wildcats remained unbeaten all-time against Hickman County in the eight-game history of the series,

Brendan Rosas had 17 points for Hickman County as did Aiden Byassee-Newton, who also had 10 rebounds.

Hickman County drops to 5-13 with the loss, while Trigg County is now 8-10. The Wildcats will host Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday.
