This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of January 20 is Hopkinsville High School swimmer Grace Cansler. Grace was selected based on her performance in the regional swim meet over the weekend at Hopkinsville High School.
Grace repeated as region champion in the 100-yard breaststroke, surging past Murray’s Tatum Faulkner in the closing yards. Cansler’s time of 1:15.23 was .63 seconds better than Faulkner’s and was a repeat of 2024 when Cansler edged Faulkner by .42 seconds to take the region title.
Cansler was also fifth in the 100-yard freestyle earlier in the day in 1:01.97.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
