Lady Colonels Run Past Fort Campbell in District Contest

The Christian County Lady Colonels used their smothering defensive pressure to overwhelm the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Monday night. The Lady Colonels held the Lady Falcons to single digits in all four quarters and without a field goal in two as they cruised to a 59-14 win on post.

Christian County settled this one early. Anaysia Bagwell put 11 points on the board in the first quarter as the Lady Colonels took a 30-8 lead after one.

The Lady Colonel defense limited Fort Campbell to one made free throw in the second quarter as the lead grew to 45-9 at the half. Carlie Hobson put up six points in the second for Christian County.

The second half ran by quickly as the running clock was in play at the beginning of the third quarter. WIth reserves seeing most of the action, Christian County pushed the lead out to 53-14.

The reserves for Christian County then pitched a shutout over the final eight minutes to complete the 45-point win. Anaysia Bagwell and Lazarie Daniel had 15 points each to lead Christian County. Carlie Hobson also hit double digits with 12.

A’mari Grimsley and Rosella Rajj had five points each for the Lady Falcons.

Christian County (14-8) goes on the road Tuesday night to take on Warren Central.

Fort Campbell (3-10) hits the road Thursday to take on Community Christian.
