Athletes from Hopkinsville High School were among the more than 1500 from 8 different states competing over the weekend in the Louisville Indoor Games.
To qualify for this year’s indoor state competition, an athlete must get on the Top 24 list and stay on it, in their class by the deadline.
Hopkinsville had several competitors finish with outstanding days in Louisville.
In the 60 Meter High Hurdles, Ollia Dixon ran a personal record of 12.45 placing her sixth on the current AA state list. In the 200M, she was 30.95 putting her 20th on the list.
2:46.46 was Alexis Herrera-Lovato’s 800M time, putting her seventh on that list.
Lauren Mayes finished with a time of 6:16.11 in the one mile run putting her seventh on the list. Mayes then came back with a 12:57.17 two mile time, putting her 4th on the state list.
In the boys 800M, Tyson Cavinder had a time of 2:17.94 and Savior Davis had a 2:18.85, placing them 13th and 17th on their state list.
In the boys High Hurdles, Elijah Reid’s 9.29 puts him 5th on the list and 10.29 from Keyshun Teal gives him 10th on the list.
In the 200M, Tavares Burgess’s personal record of 26.86 has him 21st on the state list.
Thomas Laliberte finished with a time of 1:00.00 in the 400M. That time has him 14th on the list.
In the 2 mile run, Savior Davis had a personal record of 12:08.77, which has him 12th on the list.
In the 4×8 relay, the time of 9:44.90 put the team of Tyson Cavinder, Tavares Burgess, Savior Davis, and Carlo Jones 5th on the list.
The state Indoor meet will be held in early March.
