Caldwell County’s girls ended a five-game losing skid Thursday night by holding off Livingston Central 57-47 at the CAB gym in Princeton.
The Lady Tigers (7-10) led most of the night after using a 15-0 run to break a 4-4 tie early in the contest.
Caldwell led 19-4 after one period. However, Livingston (6-12) scored seven straight points to open the second quarter.
The Lady Cardinals got as close as 23-18 when Emersyn Ramage canned two free throws with 1:06 left in the first half.
However, a 3-pointer by Lexi Gobin late in the second period helped Caldwell push the margin to 28-18 at the break.
The Lady Tigers seemed to have control of the contest when the lead reached 17 points in the third quarter.
However, Livingston crept within 42-29 through three periods, and got as close as seven points behind a pair of 3s from Maggie Downey. That made it 44-37 with still 6:08 left in the game.
But the Lady Cardinals could never get the difference below seven points down the stretch.
It was still 52-45 when Ramage scored on a drive to the basket with 2:00 to go.
A three-point play by Brylee Butts gave Caldwell a 55-45 lead with 39 seconds to play, and the Lady Tigers held on for the 10-point triumph.
Butts and Tink Clark each had 15 points to pace Caldwell. Morgan Aikins added 12.
Victoria Joiner led Livingston with 11 points. Ramage had 10.
The Lady Cardinals had won the previous three meetings between the two schools. Caldwell holds a 75-26 advantage in the all-time series.
The Lady Tigers have another home date on Friday, but a girls and boys doubleheader against Trigg County will be played at Butler Gym. It will also be homecoming for Caldwell.
Livingston’s girls next visit McCracken County on Monday.
