Despite taking the court on Friday night without five of their eight biggest contributors due to illness or injury, the Lyon County Lyons cruised past hosts Crittenden County 75-18 to maintain a perfect 5-0 mark in 5th-District play.

Carson Collins scored six first-quarter points and Hudson Phillips and Jonah Ramey combined for eight to help the Lyons to a commanding 27-8 advantage.

It was more of the same in the second half with the Lyons outscoring the Rockets 18-3 in the third and 14-2 in the final frame to breeze to a running-clock victory.

Johnson Herring led the Lyons with 15 points, including 10 in the second half, and Phillips was next with 12.  Collins and Ramey both reached double figures with 10.

Crittenden County slipped to 0-19 with Fort Campbell scheduled to visit on Monday.

Lyon County improved to 16-5 with its second straight win ahead of a trip to Henderson County on Monday.  The Lyons have won three of the last four in the series with the Colonels, including a 12-point victory in last season’s 2nd-Region championship.
