Colonels Fall to St. Mary in First Commonwealth Mortgage Classic

Points were hard to come by Saturday for the Christian County Colonels. Christian County was held below 50 points for the 5th time in the last six games as the Colonels dropped a 48-41 decision to the St. Mary Vikings in the First Commonwealth Mortgage Classic at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

The Colonels scored 11 points in the first, 12 in the second, 7 in the third, and 11 in the fourth.

The Vikings had three players score in double figures in the win. Luke Sims led the way with 12 points. Brett Haas and Griffin Mayes had 11 points each.

Christian County was paced by Josh Bridges with 9 points. Kam Williams finished with 8. Zyon Wharton and Rahsean Stevenson ended with 7 points each.

The loss was Christian County’s 6th in the last seven games and dropped the Colonels to 5-18. Christian County will be back in action Thursday night at home when the Colonels host McCracken County.
