
A big second half helped Hopkins County Central pick up a 63-57 victory at McLean County Monday night.
Down 33-20 at halftime, the Storm cut the gap to 46-42 through three quarters. Hopkins Central then outscored McLean 21-11 in the final stanza to pull out the six-point triumph.
The win ended a six-game losing skid for Hopkins Central, which is now 8-12 on the season.
Davonyae Butcher had 16 points and Sylas Gunn added 15 for the Storm. Cohl Hoard added 13 points and Karon Hopson had 10. Luke Sumner just missed scoring in double figures with nine points.
McLean got 14 points apiece from Jax Lee and Camden Baird.
The Cougars are now 13-10, but they have lost four straight.
Hopkins Central beat McLean 83-79 in overtime early in the season in Mortons Gap.
The Storm will play at home on Tuesday against Hancock County.
