
The visiting Hopkinsville Lady Tigers posted 37 first-quarter points and got 24 from Alicia Davis on Tuesday to pick up their first 8th-District win with a 78-28 decision over Fort Campbell.
Hopkinsville extended its streak in the series with Fort Campbell to 39 games dating back to the Lady Falcons’ last win in 2005.
Davis posted 13 points in the opening frame and Lashanti Wilson added 10 for the Lady Tigers. Taria Sharber chipped in six and Hoptown held the Lady Falcons to only six points to open up a 33-point advantage.
Davis and Wilson combined for nine in the second and Kaveyah White scored eight of her 10 to stretch the halftime margin to 40 points.
After seven more points in the third, Davis called it a night with a game-high 24. Wilson finished with 19, and Sharber also reached double figures with 12.
Hopkinsville snapped a two-game skid to improve to 7-9, 1-2 in district play, with a visit from McLean County coming up on Friday.
Fort Campbell slipped to 3-11 with its second district loss. The Lady Falcons will be on the road on Saturday to face Cloverport.
