After ending a 6-game losing skid Monday night against McLean County, the Hopkins County Central Storm have now won back-to-back games on back-to-back nights. The Storm took the early lead and never gave it back Tuesday night as they rolled to a 70-50 win over Hancock County in Mortons Gap.
Central took a 21-13 lead after one and then pushed that out to 39-24 at the half.
The Storm defense then settled the issue for good in the third quarter by holding the Hornets to just three field goals as the lead ballooned out to 58-33 heading into the fourth quarter.
Hopkins County Central did it with a team effort as nine different players scored in the game, led by Davonyae Butcher with 15 points. Cohl Hoard added 12 points and Karon Hopson also hit double figures with 10.
Taylor Payne was the leading scorer for Hancock County with 9 points, all of them coming in the fourth quarter.
Hopkins County Central (9-12) will be back in action Friday night when the Storm hosts Livingston Central.
