
With second-leading scorer Ja’Mya Kay out and Alexis Taylor under the weather on Tuesday, the Todd County Central girls basketball team struggled to put up points in a 57-18 loss to hosts Calloway County.
Riding a four-game winning streak, the Lady Lakers took control early with eight first-quarter points from Jaidan Koch and five from Sayler Lowe to lead 16-5.
Lowe added seven in the second frame and Calloway held the Lady Rebels to only six points to cruise into halftime with a 34-11 advantage.
Koch rounded out a game-high 21-point performance with nine in the third. Lowe was the only other player for either team in double figures with 19.
Calloway County won for the fifth in a row to improve to 21-3.
Todd Central lost its second straight to slip to 12-10 ahead of a 13th-District matchup at Logan County on Friday. The Lady Rebels dropped the first meeting with the Lady Cougars 52-28.
