The University Heights Academy Blazers have now strung together back-to-back wins. In a matchup that featured two of the highest-scoring duos in the area, it was the Blazers’ pairing of Elijah Walton and Tylin George that had the biggest night in the 8th District matchup between UHA and Fort Campbell in Blazer Gym.
The duo combined to score 70 points as the Blazers took a 90-71 win over the Falcons. George had 36 points while Walton had 34. The effort marked the second straight game where each of the two had gone over 30 points.
Fort Campbell’s pairing of Israel Dillard and Tyreek Anthony combined to score 52 points with each player hitting for 26 points on the night.
The Falcons hung with UHA through the first eight minutes of the game. The first quarter ended with the Blazers holding a 17-16 lead. Tylin George scored 7 points in the first.
George and Walton scored all but two of the Blazers’ points in the second quarter as UHA got a little breathing room by pushing the lead out to 40-29. Dillard and Anthony scored all of the Fort Campbell points in the second.
UHA came out of the break and delivered the knockout blow in the third quarter. George and Walton continued their big nights, combining to score 25 of the Blazers’ 30 points in the quarter as the lead grew to 70-44.
The Falcons had their best offensive quarter of the night in the fourth, but the lead was well out of hand by that point as UHA took the 19-point win.
