A former standout for the Madisonville-North Hopkins softball program is returning to join the Lady Maroons coaching staff. School officials announced Thursday that Courtney Patterson would be returning to her high school alma mater.
Patterson was a six-year letter winner for Madisonville-North Hopkins and as a sophomore helped lead the Lady Maroons to the 2017 KHSAA state championship. She was named the MVP for that tournament.
Patterson’s junior year, the Lady Maroons lost to Christian County in the regional semifinals. Her senior season in 2019, Madisonville won the 2nd Region tournament before losing to Clay County in the state tournament quarterfinals.
Patterson continued her athletic and academic career at Campbellsville University.
