
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats couldn’t hold a fourth quarter lead at Muhlenberg County and fell 63-48.
The Lady Wildcats used a 22-9 third quarter run to grab a 41-37 heading into the fourth quarter but managed just two field goals in the final eight minutes.
Muhlenberg County, meanwhile, reached the free-throw line 16 times in the fourth quarter and made 13, erasing the deficit.
Veyda Grinolds scored 14 of her 23 points in the third quarter for the Lady Wildcats, who knocked down eight shots from behind the arc. Reese Bush hit four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, and Alivia Norwood hit three as part of her 11-point night.
Trigg had two starters who did not score, and another missed the game due to being out of town.
Taylor Wilkins led Muhlenberg County with 23 points, and Izzy Wilkins added 20. The Lady Mustangs finished the game 18-of-27 at the free throw line while Trigg was 4-of-11.
Muhlenberg County ended a six-game losing streak and improved to 6-0 all-time against Trigg County.
The Lady Wildcats will host Hopkinsville on Friday and play at Heritage Christian Academy on Saturday.
