Slow Start Trips Lady Warriors at Cloverport

The Heritage Christian Academy girls basketball team outscored hosts Cloverport in the second half on Friday but couldn’t overcome a scoreless first half in a 35-17 defeat.

Cloverport built a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and stretched the margin to 20 points at the halftime break.  Lilah Moore led the way with eight points for the Lady Aces, and Phoenix Sanders and Campbell Moore combined for eight.

The Lady Warriors got on the scoreboard with three points in the third before Lauren Loftus put up 10 in the fourth to help HCA outscore Cloverport by three.

HCA slipped to 0-13 ahead of a visit from Trigg County on Saturday.

Cloverport won for the third time in four outings to improve to 5-14.
