Baylee Swatzell Scores 34 as Lady Panthers Roll

Sparked by their defense, the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers had their highest offensive output in more than two years Saturday. The Lady Panthers forced Community Christian into 32 turnovers as Dawson Springs picked up a big 65-32 road win over the Lady Warriors.

The 65 points was the most scored by the Lady Panthers since a 69-36 win at Community Christian on January 17, 2023.

Led by Baylee Swatzell’s 7 points, the Lady Panthers took a 12-4 lead after the opening quarter. Swatzell kept rolling in the second, scoring 16 of the Lady Panthers’ 17 points as the lead grew to 29-14 at the half. Swatzell was 9 of 10 at the line in the quarter.

Baylee got some help from sister Ashtyn Swatzell in the third quarter as Dawson Springs blew the lead out to 49-21 heading into the final quarter. The Lady Panthers then cruised on out to the final 33-point margin.

Baylee Swatzell had a career-high 34 points to lead Dawson Springs. Briley had 10 steals and 11 assists to go along with her 7 points. Emmie Colson also had 7 points. Ashtyn Swatzell and Alyssa Allison chipped in with 6 points each.

The Lady Panthers (7-13) goes on the road Thursday to take on the Trigg County Lady Wildcats.
