The final race of the day got the Lady Maroons of Madisonville-North Hopkins their entry at the upcoming KHSAA state championship swimming finals. Madisonville’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team finished in 4th place with a time of 3:58.87.
That time was good enough to earn the team of Addison Howard, Audrey Tate, Adison Melton, and Emma Tagg an at-large berth at the state finals. They will be seeded 22nd at the finals.
The state finals will be held at the University of Kentucky.
Other finishes for the first round of the state championships Saturday in Bowling Green were:
