
The pairings are set for the 2025 7th District basketball tournament, which will be played at Caldwell County High School starting Monday, Feb. 24.
The seeds were finalized Friday night when Madisonville-North Hopkins swept a girls and boys doubleheader at Caldwell County.
The boys will play their semifinals the first night, with top-seeded Madisonville taking on No. 4 Hopkins County Central at 5:30. No. 2 Caldwell County will take on No. 3 Dawson Springs in the late game at 7:00.
The girls will play their semifinals on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Hopkins County Central is the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 4 Dawson Springs at 5:30. No. 2 Madisonville takes on No. 3 Caldwell County at 7:00 that night.
The boys’ championship game is set for Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:00.
The girls’ championship is Friday, Feb. 28 at 6:00.
Madisonville is looking for its 16th straight boys’ district championship. Meanwhile, the Lady Maroons are the defending champions in the girls’ tourney and have won four of the last six titles.
District champions and runners-up advance to the 2nd Region tournament. The girls’ regional will be played this season at Christian County while the boys’ regional is at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Dates for the girls’ regional are March 3-4 and 7-8.
The boys’ region dates are March 5-6, 11 and 18.
