Hosts Logan County built a double-digit first-quarter lead on Tuesday and snapped a three-game skid with a 61-45 victory over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.

The Lady Tigers paid for a sluggish start despite a strong third quarter to lose for the first time in three outings and slip to 8-10.

Takiyah Mason, Brenley Adler, and Reese Wetton each scored 12 points to lead the Lady Cougars to an early 19-6 advantage, and they overcame eight points in the second from Hopkinsville’s Alicia Davis to lead 34-16 at halftime.

The Lady Tigers held Logan County to only six points in the third in an effort to stage a comeback.  Lashanti Wilson knocked down a couple of three-pointers and Davis chipped in four points to help Hoptown shave eight points off the deficit.

However, Adler closed out a game-high 22-point performance with 12 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Lady Cougars.

Davis finished with 21 to lead the Lady Tigers, and Wilson added nine in the final frame to score 19.

Hopkinsville will look to get back to winning ways on Thursday when Clarksville, TN visits Tiger Gym.
