The Hopkinsville Tigers’ bid for a four-game winning streak came up just a little bit short Wednesday night. Paducah Tilghman rallied from a first quarter deficit to come back and take an 82-75 win in Tiger Gym.

Hopkinsville got off to a good start in the contest. The Tigers took a 21-13 lead after the opening quarter.

The Blue Tornado offense got rolling in the second quarter. Tilghman put up 27 points in the quarter as they came charging back to take a 40-37 lead into the locker room at the break.

Paducah Tilghman, in the latter part of the third quarter, looked as if it might put some distance between the two teams. However, the Tigers battled back and the game headed into the final quarter still with a 3-point margin at 61-58.

The Blue Tornado was able to get just a little breathing room in the fourth and then fought off Tiger attempts to cut into the lead as Paducah Tilghman took the 7-point win.

James Bradley Jr. had a monster effort for the Tigers in the loss. Bradley finished the night with 35 points. Freshman Jonovan Leavell added 13 points and fellow freshman Jayon Bass also hit double figures with 11.

Paducah Tilghman was led by Ahmad Wilkins with 30 points. Miles Woodfork scored 22 points. Owen Mikel reached double digits with 15 points.

Hopkinsville, which had won 5 of 6 coming into the night, drops to 11-14 with the loss. The Tigers are right back in action Thursday night against Hopkins County Central for Senior Night. The Tigers beat the Storm Saturday night in Mortons Gap.
