The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons sloshed through the rainy weather Saturday and made a little basketball history at Fort Knox. The Lady Falcons controlled the game with the Lady Eagles from the very beginning and took a 56-9 road win.
The win was the 4th straight for Fort Campbell, the first time that has happened since the 2001-2002 season.
Behind the efforts of Rosella Rajj and A’mari Grimsley, the Lady Falcons took a 12-5 lead after the opening quarter.
The Fort Campbell defense held Fort Knox without a field goal in the second quarter. On the other end of the court, A’mari Grimsley was unstoppable, scoring 14 points on her own as the lead grew to 31-6 at the half.
The Lady Falcons then pitched a shutout in the third as they blew the game wide open. The quarter ended with Fort Campbell ahead 49-6.
Running clock was in play as the 4th quarter started and the Lady Falcons rode it out to the final 47-point margin.
A’mari Grimsley was the star of the day with 31 points. Rosella Rajj had 8 points and 8 rebounds for Fort Campbell. Kyndel Bradley added 6 points.
Fort Knox was led by Valeiah Richardson with four points.
Fort Campbell (7-11) will be back in action Wednesday night when the Lady Falcons host Marshall County.
