
Lyon County made its first trip to Paducah Tilghman in over 24 years a successful one.
Nolan Coffman pumped in 32 points as Lyon captured a 90-80 triumph Monday night.
Lyon, now 22-6, led most of the night. The Lyons went up 28-17 after one period and held a 46-32 advantage at halftime.
It was 73-55 through three quarters, and Lyon went up by as much as 24 points in the final frame before the Blue Tornado whittled the final margin down to 10.
Isaac Defew added 22 points for the Lyons while Bray Kirk had 19.
Miles Woodfork had 28 points to lead Tilghman, which is 14-11. Owen Mikel added 14 points and Avery Thompson 10 for the Blue Tornado.
Lyon’s previous trip to Tilghman came in December of 2000. The Lyons fell that night 96-76 in the Paducah Tilghman Christmas Tournament. The two schools had not met on the hardwood since then.
Lyon is next scheduled to play at home on Tuesday against Hopkinsville.
