
Community Christian put the clamps on Fort Campbell’s top two scorers in the first half and that carried the Warriors to a win in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon. CCA limited Israel Dillard and Tyreek Anthony to a combined one free throw in the first 16 minutes as the Warriors built a lead and then rolled on to a 66-54 win.
The Warriors got 10 points from Brad DeJarnett in the first quarter as they took a 15-5 lead. All five Falcon points were scored by Kingston Morton.
DeJarnett added 12 more points in the second as the lead grew to 34-17 at the half.
The Falcons made a big move to get back in the game in the third quarter. Israel Dillard, Jamile Wilson, and Tyreek Anthony finally got going on the offensive end as Fort Campbell closed to within 44-40 heading into the final quarter.
Ahmed Dee took over in the fourth for the Warriors, scoring 17 points, including 9 of 13 at the free throw line as Community Christian turned back the Fort Campbell rally and picked up the win.
Israel Dillard ended up with 17 points for Fort Campbell, 16 of them in the second half. Kingston Morton ended up with 11 points. The CCA defense held Tyreek Anthony to just 5 points for the day.
The Warriors got a huge game from Ahmed Dee with 30 points. Dee scored 25 in the second half.
Fort Campbell (3-24) opens postseason play Monday night as they take on Heritage Christian at Hopkinsville High School.
