Fort Campbell’s Jonah Weisbrich just missed out on a Top 10 individual finish at the boys’ state swimming finals Saturday in Lexington. Weisbrich qualified for the finals by being the top finisher in the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke at the state first-round event in Bowling Green.
At Saturday’s state finals, Weisbrich swam a 59.58 in the preliminaries, placing him 12th. That was not enough to get him into the finals but did put him in the consolation final.
In the consolation final, Weishbrich cut more than a half-second off his time from earlier in the day, swimming a 59.06. The time put him in 11th place for the state meet.
Wilson York, of St. Xavier, won the state championship in the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke with a championship final time of 54.54.
