With his team down 64-62 and under 30 seconds to play, Madisonville-North Hopkins senior Landen Smith took matters into his own hands.
Smith grabbed a missed free throw by Hopkins County Central, hustled up the floor and buried a 3-pointer with 22 seconds remaining to put the Maroons back in front for good.
Madisonville went on to claim a 67-64 triumph and will face Dawson Springs in Thursday’s 7th District championship game in Princeton.
