Fort Campbell’s Ryker Kramer filled in some gaps for the Falcons’ wrestling program record book on Saturday at the KHSAA State Championship in Lexington.

The junior finished in seventh place in the 106-pound class, becoming the first Fort Campbell wrestler to medal since David Nikolao in 2017 and the first since Louie Regalado in 2014 to medal at 106.

Kramer finished the state tournament with a record of 5-2. His two losses came to Conner’s Keaton Dicken, the eventual 5th place medalist, in the consolation bracket and to Martin County’s Jeremy Mollett, who finished sixth, in the second round.

Kramer, who came into the weekend ranked No. 8 in the weight class, took down five wrestlers ranked in the top 30, including No. 5 Lincoln Maynard of North Oldham, by a pin to advance to the medal round.

T.J. Dixon won a pair of matches in the 150-pound class but saw his tourney end at the hands of a pair of wrestlers who finished on the medal podium.

Dixon fell No. 19 Jared Cornell of Somerset in the opener. Cornell would go on to place eighth.

On Saturday, Dixon lost to Scott County’s Kayne Garrett, who would finish in fifth place.

Dixon’s season ends with a record of 49-9.

Adyn Laird also went up against a pair of ranked wrestlers in his first two matches in the 165-pound class. He fell to No. 25 Landon Worley of Frederick Douglass and No. 22 R.J. Wrenn of Meade County.

Fort Campbell scored 16.5 points and finished tied for 48th place.
