Hopkinsville Sets New School Records at State Class AA Indoors

The Hopkinsville Tigers and Lady Tigers picked up a trio of Top 10 finishes Tuesday at KHSAA Class AA Indoor Track & Field championships in Louisville.

For the Lady Tigers, Lauren Mayes finished 7th in the 3200m. Mayes ran a time of 12:30.00.

Ollia Dixon came in 15th in the 55m High Hurdles. Dixon finished in a time of 10.99.

TaLaijha Cherry had a throw of 26-09.50 in the Girls Shot Put. That was good enough to put her in 16th place.

As a team, the Lady Tigers placed 24th for the meet.

On the boys side, the Boys 4×800 Meter Relay team of Tyson Cavinder, Savior Davis, LaMareon Jeffers, and Carlo Jones ended up with an indoor school record time of 8:51.36. That effort placed them 8th in the event.

Keyshun Teal came up with a 7th place finish in the Boys 55 Meter Hurdles with anothen school indoor record time, this one 8.25. Elijah Reid was 11th with a personal record of 8.43.

In the Boys 800 Meter Run Savior Davis finished 11th with a time of 2:06.26, another indoor school record.

Tyson Cavinder finished 21st in the Boys 1600 Meter Run with a time of 5:02.96.

In the Boys 3200 Meter Run, Cavinder ran a personal indoor record of 11:02.26 and finished 15th.

The Tigers finished 28th as a team.
