The Christian County Colonels ended up in ties in both of their preseason baseball scrimmages, but they were vastly different games. After tying with Warren East 11-11 in their scrimmage opener, the Colonels were at the complete opposite end of the spectrum Thursday night as they traveled to Bowling Green and ended up in a 0-0 tie with the Purples.
The Colonels, who were charged with 8 errors in their game against Warren East, still had some fielding issues, finishing with 4 errors Thursday night. The difference this time around was that the fielding miscues did not cost Christian County.
The Colonels got big pitching efforts from a quartet of hurlers. Gage Montes, Aiden Lews, Sebastian Dazey, and Andrew Fincham combined to pitch six innings of four-hit baseball. Montes and Lewis had two strikeouts each.
Christian County bats struggled against the Bowling Green pitching, coming up with just two hits in the game. Sebastian Dazey and Gage Montes had singles for the Colonels.
Christian County will now get ready to open the season Monday night when the Colonels host the Fort Campbell Falcons in an 8th District contest.
