The South Warren Lady Spartans turned back not one, but two rally attempts from the Christian County Lady Colonels as South Warren took an 8-5 scrimmage win on the south side of Bowling Green Thursday evening.

The Lady Spartans led 4-0 after three but saw the Lady Colonels plate three runs in the top of the fourth to close to within one run. Christian County took advantage of two South Warren errors in the inning.

The Lady Spartans extended their lead out to 8-3 with three runs in the bottom of the 5th and another in the sixth.

The Lady Colonels rallied to score two runs in the top of the 7th and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with just one out but could not add any more to their total.

Four different Lady Colonels had one hit each in the game, those hitters being Avery Adock, Chloe Almy, Jayda Turner, and Alondra Rodriguez.

Freshman Alyssa Petterson went all six innings in the circle, giving up 8 runs on 6 hits, striking out one and walking four.

Christian County will officially open the season Monday evening when they host the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons in an 8th District contest.
