The Maroon baseball team scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the second on the way to an 11-5 triumph at the Marion City-County Park.
Four Madisonville pitchers combined to strike out 11 while allowing three earned runs on just two base hits.
The Maroons banged out nine base hits — by nine different hitters. They also took advantage of 10 walks.
Brantley Harris, Lane Faulk and Matthew Yates each doubled to lead Madisonville’s hit parade.
Evan Wilson, Aidan Arp and Blake Prow each had three strikeouts on the mound for the Maroons.
Chase Conyer doubled for Crittenden.
The Rockets will open regular-season play on Tuesday at Christian Fellowship School.
Madisonville opens Monday with a home game against Ohio County.
