Trigg Wraps Up Softball Preseason by Routing Muhlenberg County

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats wrapped up the preseason with an impressive effort Friday evening. The Lady Wildcats scored in four of five at-bats as they picked up a 5-inning 14-1 win on the road at Muhlenberg County.

Tember Oliver looked in mid-season form in the circle. She went all five innings, giving up just one run on four hits, striking out six and walking none.

The Lady Wildcats plated three runs in the first, seven more in the second and then closed things out with two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth. Trigg’s bats rapped out 15 hits for the game.

MaKenna Hendricks led the attack, going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Madilynn Smith ended up 2-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Lily Eagleson went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Trigg County was solid in the field, not being charged with a single error in five innings of play.

The Lady Wildcats are set to officially open the season Monday evening by hosting Madisonville-North Hopkins.
