
The Christian County Lady Colonels got the 2025 softball season off to a big start Monday evening. Christian County took advantage of five Fort Campbell errors as the Lady Colonels cruised past the Lady Falcons 16-0 in three innings in the season opener and the 8th District opener for both teams.
After setting the Lady Falcons down in order in the top of the first, the Lady Colonels erupted for 11 runs in the bottom half of the inning. The first 8 batters reached safely for Christian County as the Lady Colonels scored 7 runs before they had an out.
The Lady Colonels added five more runs in the bottom of the second.
Fort Campbell’s lone hit in the game was a leadoff double from Ryleigh Watry in the top of the second.
Alondra Rodriguez led Christian County, going 3-3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Jazzy Tejada was 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Alyssa Petterson ended up 2-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Petterson went three innings in the circle, giving up the one hit, striking out 8, and walking one.
Baylee Backes was tagged with the loss for the Lady Falcons in the circle, giving up 16 runs, only 7 of which were earned. She struck out 2 and walked 8.
