The search for a new head girls basketball coach at Lyon County High School is getting underway. Officials at Lyon County High School announced Wednesday morning that Dawn Cotham was stepping down as coach following four seasons on the job.

Cotham ends her tenure with a 70-51 overall record. She led the Lady Lyons to back-to-back 20-win seasons in 2023-24 and 2024-25, including the best start in program history this season, with a 14-1 record.

Cotham’s tenure included a 5th District championship in 2024 and three trips to the 2nd Region tournament.

Her first team in 2021-2022 won the 2nd Region All A Classic and picked up a win over Campbellsville in the opening round of the All A Classic state tournament.

In a statement, school officials stated “We truly appreciate all the time and effort that Coach Cotham has put into our program.”
