The Todd County Central Rebels came up with 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as they picked up a 12-2 six-inning win over the Bluegrass Braves, from Bowling Green, in the Rebels’ season opener Tuesday evening.
Todd County Central’s first five batters reached base safely as they got the quick jump on the home school team from Warren County.
Todd Central scored another run in the second and two more in the third to run the lead out to 8-0. The Rebels would then close out the game with a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

Ethan Harris had a big day for the Rebels (1-0), going 3-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Devin Schutt was 2-3 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and 3 runs scored. Peyton Ortiz went 2-2 with two doubles and 3 RBIs.
Todd Central ended up outhitting the Braves 13 to 6. The Rebels also had a solid day in the field with no errors charged against the defense.
Junior Conner Wheeler got the start on the hill for the Rebels. He went five innings, giving up one run on six hits, striking out 9 and walking two. Devin Schutt came in to close out the game in the top of the sixth.
