Dawson Springs senior Rex Blue has made it a clean sweep of the coaches’ 2nd Region Player of the Year awards.
In February, Blue received the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region 2 Player of the Year Award.
On Tuesday, Blue was recognized following the regional tournament championship game as the 2nd Region Coaches Association 2024-25 Player of the Year.
Blue averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds a game this season as the Panthers finished 17-16. He helped Dawson achieve back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1978-79.
Dawson Springs upset Caldwell County in the 7th District tournament and played in the 2nd Region tourney for the first time since 2017. The Panthers fell to Lyon County in the first round.
Dawson’s season included its first win over Madisonville-North Hopkins in nearly 28 years — going back to the 1997 7th District tournament.
Blue ended his high school career with 1,870 points and over 1,150 rebounds.
