After not playing a home game in nearly two years, the Fort Campbell Falcons baseball team and the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons softball team are closing in on having a home field again, brand new fields that is.
Athletic department officials at Fort Campbell have announced the teams will play their first games on the new fields April 12 as they host the teams from Fort Knox in a pair of doubleheaders.
It will be a day of celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guest speakers, and of course ceremonial first pitches at the new facilities.
The games will take place following the ceremonies, which are set for 10:45 that morning.
The last home game for the Falcons was against University Heights on April 25, 2023. For the Lady Falcons, the last time they had the chance to play on their home field was back on May 2, 2023 against Hopkins County Central.
Every game during the 2024 season and up to April 12 will have been a road game for the Falcons and Lady Falcons.
