Big wins on a cool and breezy afternoon for the tennis teams at Madisonville-North Hopkins Thursday. The Lady Maroons took on the Union County Bravettes and came away with an 8-0 team sweep in the match.
The Maroons also took on Union County and came away with a 3-0 team win.
In girls’ play, Madisonville-North Hopkins won all six singles matches and then swept the two doubles matches that were played.
In singles action, Macey Browning, Addyson Raymer, Albany Ray, Cleo Tirey, Ellie Sines, and Olivia Kirkland all picked up wins for the afternoon.
The Madisonville doubles pairings of Kiley DeMoss and Caroline Lovvorn, along with Emma Tagg and Danyel Reynolds also won their matches.
In boys’ play, the Maroons won both singles matches and the one doubles match of the afternoon.
Caleb Tagg won 8-0 over Evan Russellburg. Izaac Bridgman also won 8-0 over Makedin Elam.
In doubles, Jaden Heath and Karson Starks took an 8-0 win over Russellburg and Elam.
