
It was a long day of baseball Saturday for the Fort Campbell Falcons. In a pair of games that took over six hours to play, the Falcons picked up their first win of the season in a high-scoring affair against Crittenden County and then lost another shootout in the second game, falling to John Hardin. Both games were played at the City-County Park in Marion.
Against Crittenden County, the Falcons scored 13 runs in their final two at-bats as Fort Campbell rallied from an early 8-1 deficit to take a 22-19 win. The Falcons scored in every inning but the second as they got their first win of the 2025 campaign.
Both teams had fielding issues that led to opportunities for the other. Fort Campbell had 9 errors while the Rockets had 6. The two teams also combined for 22 walks.
Ryan Brewer led the Falcons, going 3-5 at the plate with a double, 4 RBIs, and three runs scored. Francisco Ramirez was 2-3 with a double, 2 RBIs, and three runs scored. Noah Herron ended up 2-5 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored.
Pitching struggles were a big part of the second game as well as Fort Campbell and John Hardin combined for 26 walks.
Fort Campbell took an early 8-0 lead, only to see the Bulldogs score 11 runs in the third and 9 in the top of the sixth as John Hardin took a 22-11 six-inning win over the Falcons.
John Hardin outhit Fort Campbell 13 to 5 for the game. The Bulldogs were charged with 5 errors while the Falcons had four.
Michael Anderson had a big game for Fort Campbell (1-3). He went 2-4 with a double, a triple, three RBIs, and two runs scored.
