Just two days after losing to the Christian County Lady Colonels in a game played at Trigg County, the Marshall County Lady Marshals got a measure of revenge Monday evening. Marshall County took advantage of five errors from the Lady Colonels on their way to a 9-3 win.
Two errors opened the door for Marshall County to take a 3–0 lead in the top of the third. Avery Adcock walked and stole home in the bottom of the inning to trim the lead to 3-1.
Another error in the top of the 4th got things started again for the Lady Marshals, who scored three to push the lead out to 6-1.
Freshman Alondra Rodriquez drove in a pair of runs with a single to left in the bottom of the 5th to bring Christian County to within 6-3.
Once again, a fielding error by the Lady Colonels set Marshall County up to score three more runs in the top of the 6th to push the margin out to 9-3 and that would be the score when the game came to an end.
Avery Adcock went 3-3 for Christian County (3-2) with two runs scored. Alondra Rodriguez was 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. For the game, Marshall County outhit the Lady Colonels 9 to 8.
Avery Adcock got the start for the Lady Colonels in the circle and was tagged for the loss, but the Christian County defense did her no favors in this one. Adcock went 4 ⅔ innings, giving up six runs, only one of them earned, on eight hits. She struck out one and walked four.
