Maroon Archers Place Third at Region Tournament (w/PHOTOS)

Madisonville-North Hopkins finished in third place at Saturday’s Region 1 Archery Tournament at Trigg County High School.

Gavin Bunch led the Maroons with a score of 283 to finish in 15^th place. Three other Maroons finished within three points of each other. Parker Keith (282) was 19^th, Alex Garrott (281) was 20^{th, and} Aiden Ramsey (280) was 21^st.

Riley Peyton (278) finished in 31^st place followed by Jackson Smith (277) in 35^th place; Lukas Brewer (272) in 60^th place; Austin Young (272) in 62^nd place; Landon Peyton (271) in 65^th place; Keagan Gish (268) in 75^th place; Tyler Rose (261) in 104^th place; and Joseph Knoth (253) in 121^st place.

Madisonville finished in third place with 1,953 points. Marshall County won the region title with 1,993 points, followed by Graves County in second place with 1,975. Only the top two teams and the top three individuals not on those two teams qualify for state.

Unlike NASP tournaments, where the top 12 scores of both boys and girls count toward a team score, the KHSAA takes the top seven scores of each gender to determine the boys’ and girls’ team and individual champions.
